Word from President (2013)

Beloved Intercessors,

Loving greetings from Engeltal where Spring is springing up with new life in flowers and trees and busy animal life! “The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come…” (Song 2:12).

Branch Officers Convocation: Our Branch Officers Convocation was truly a glorious time of encouragement and leadership training. Our own ETH, Pastor Lina Gabeli opened her heart to share many wonderful truths about servant leadership from her 20+ years of experience pastoring with her husband Giulio in Canada. Marilyn Hargis and Linda Hartzell presented wonderful tips about preparing to go to the mission field (even how to pack and find good prices for airline tickets). Annie Lee Billings shared how the Holy Spirit reignited their ETH&S Branch in Memphis and how they are going strong with a powerful anointing. Betty Bazzle spoke on the subject of developing your call, joyously punctuated with stories from her many years of pastoring.

Arise, Cross Over This Jordan: The final night of this event, the Lord put it on my heart to share from the book of Joshua. Several speakers during the Holy Convocation we held in honour of the works the Lord did through Sister Gwen’s life, referred to the first chapter of Joshua, verse 2: Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. That’s where I began my message about how it is time for the End-Time Handmaidens and Servants to now arise and cross over into our Promised Land. The Lord has promised us the nations as we have asked them of Him according to Psalm 2:8. He has promised us revival in many prophetic words and in our theme scripture, Acts 2:17-18, And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: …. And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy.

The Lord proved Himself faithful to the children of Israel as they obeyed Him in following the Ark of the Covenant where they had never gone before, crossing the flooding Jordan River on dry ground, because the Lord had rolled back the waters. After they made their camp and celebrated their first Passover in the Promised Land, the Lord commanded that Joshua make “sharp knives” to circumcise the young warriors that had been born while they wandered in the wilderness. The Bible doesn’t explain why they hadn’t been circumcised since the Exodus from Egypt, but it wasn’t right for them to inherit the Land given to them by the covenant of the Lord to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, if they didn’t have the sign of the covenant in their bodies. The excess flesh has to be cut away before we can possess the promises.

Philippians 3:3 says, “For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.” Let us seek the face of the Lord to help us cut away everything that keeps us from worshipping in the Spirit and rejoicing in Christ Jesus. The Greek word for “I am” is ego. Putting self first as though I were my own  “great I am” (lifting up myself above others), that is, the self-life, must be given up so that we can succeed in the battles for our inheritance. It is mature sons that receive the inheritance, sons who have learned first how to serve. Receiving our inheritance is getting what we have already been given, like Joshua and the children of Israel finally possessing the Land that was promised to their forefathers 400 years earlier. We have been promised revival in the nations. Let’s press in to let the Holy Spirit order our lives and manifest the victory He has paid for and given us.

Stand Up and Be Counted: When Joshua was getting ready to go to battle against Ai (Joshua 8:10), he rose up early and numbered the fighting men, sending some to ambush positions and others to face the city. Scripture records many times that the armies were numbered. Only in David’s case was it a sin. Sister Gwen felt that she shouldn’t count the End-Time Handmaidens and Servants because of David’s example, and knowing that only God would know who is truly with us from the heart. We will continue according to her pattern. However, there is a time when God says, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” (Is. 6:8). God is assembling His army of those on whom He can count to obey Him, and He is calling the End-Time Handmaidens and Servants to play their part. Are you ready to stand up and say, “Here am I, send me?”

World Convention 2013: Come and stand up and be counted at the World Convention, July 2-6, 2013. Location: St. Louis Airport Marriott Hotel.
